Vladan Sibinovic (b. 1987, Belgrade, Serbia) is a visual artist whose work spans various media —with a primary focus on acrylic on canvas, as well as painted sculptures and spatial installations. He earned his Master’s degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Arts in Belgrade in 2011, where he was honored as the valedictorian of his class.
His artistic practice explores the boundary between the individual's internal world and external social reality. Through meticulously constructed relationships between interior and exterior spaces, Sibinovic places the viewer within realms of apparent peace and security—sanctuaries for introspection. These environments, rich in symbolic elements, are often disrupted by subtle illogicalities and "portals" (windows and doors) that introduce the outside world, suggesting the duality of life and the elusive nature of happiness.
Sibinovic has furthered his professional development through prestigious programs, including the Summer Academy Traunkirchen (attending classes of Arnulf Rainer and Xenia Hausner) and the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg (under the mentorship of Imran Qureshi). He has participated in numerous artist-in-residence programs, most notably Glo’ Art in Lanaken, Chinatown Soup in New York City, the Dr. Éva Kahán Foundation in Tuscany, and Cité internationale des arts in Paris.
To date, he has realized nine solo exhibitions, including "The Room of Requirement" (ULUS Gallery, Belgrade, 2026), "Listen to the Hummingbird" (Monolog Gallery, Belgrade, 2023), and "The Language" (Chinatown Soup, NYC, 2020). His work has been featured in numerous group exhibitions across Europe and the USA. He has been a member of ULUS (Association of Fine Artists of Serbia) since 2012 and is the recipient of several honors, including the Lighton International Artists Exchange Program (LIAEP) fellowship in 2025.
The artist lives and works between Belgrade and New York City.
